Invoice Billing Specialist

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000

Based on the outskirts of Basingstoke, this progressive organisation is wishing to recruit a confident individual to work alongside the Billing Manager.

The successful candidate will be able to think independently, be naturally numerate, inquisitive and have a strong eye for detail with a desire to investigate anomalies. You will bring a skill set to the business meaning you will not only take responsibility for the current reporting but will be able to challenge processes and bring fresh ideas on how to tackle problems.

The billing department is responsible for:

  • Monthly billing circa 9,000 invoices a month
  • Monthly reporting to Directors
  • Integration of acquired businesses
  • Investigation and reporting of profitability
  • Adding all products to the Affinity billing system
  • Reconciliation of supplier invoices to the billing platform

Key areas of responsibility including monthly:

  • Monthly Reporting for the Director team, taking responsibility for monthly reports, working within tight deadlines
  • DD collections
  • Profit Loss Analysis
  • Revenue Assurance
  • Ticket resolution
  • Contribution to monthly billing process
  • Maintenance of the integrity of the catalogue of billing products

Project Work

By its nature, project work will be ad hoc and varied. The types of project undertaken might relate to;

  • Integration of the billing of an acquired business to the Affinity billing platform. This is typically a 2 month project which typically acquires 3 – 5 businesses a year
  • Profitability investigations
  • Pricing changes

Skills and Experience

  • Experienced with using Excel including manipulation of large data sets, proficient in the use of tools such as IF, VLOOKUP and Pivot tables to solve problems and investigate anomalies
  • Tenacious personality as problems can be complex and involved
  • Inquisitive and naturally numerate
  • High attention to detail with a passion for accuracy
  • Calm under pressure
  • Good communication with the ability to put a point across clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Confident personality, prepared to be innovative and lead changes to processes, seeking continual efficiencies
